Hello Guys!

I
trust that everyone has "dried-out" from our
Anniversary Event (pun intended ! ).  It was a great time
despite the nasty weather.  Thanks to George, Tibby,
Sonny, Hak, Mike, and everyone else who helped to
make the day one to remember.

In my role as Webmaster, I get quite a bit of feedback -
at times.  Most positive, some not so positive.  Some
folks seem to have the need to make suggestions
regarding issues when they have NO IDEA of what's
going on.  Some make outrageous requests when they
have no idea of the amount of time and energy it would
take to accomplish what they ask.  Most of the time I
throw it back to them by saying "Go ahead and do it, I
will help" and that's usually as far as it goes -- go figure!

I take great pride in our website and do my best to
publish the most accurate information possible.  I try to
make it interesting, informative, and fun.  I do my best
to include EACH and EVERY ONE of our members in as
many ways as possible.  You may see some folks on the
site more than others - and that may be for a variety of
reasons.  They may be at more functions, maybe they
are more involved in the "action" and not sitting on the
sidelines, or maybe they are just "camera hogs" <EG>.
Also, I always take TONS of pictures and sometimes
they don't all come out.  Some are blurry, some have
somebody's hand in the way, or maybe the lighting is
bad.  I try to put only the "good ones" on the site.

The role of the webmaster is to publish information that
is provided by the Board and by the membership.
Keeping the site up to date and accurate is a far more
demanding job than most would appreciate.  I would
suggest anyone who thinks our site is "lacking" check
out some of the other sites published by clubs in our
area and across the nation.  I can tell you what you will
find are sites that have not been updated in months, if
not years.  Even active clubs have events from a year
ago listed as "Upcoming Events".  Most have very few if
ANY pictures of their events and very little information
other than how to "join".

I have no training in computer programming at all.  I
started by trying to set up a personal site for Steven and
I and was amazed at what could be done.  I do realize
that our site is "primitive".  I am not versed in HTML,
FLASH, or any other fancy programming protocols.  If
anyone in the club is fluent in any of these modalities
and would like to lend a hand - please let me know!  I
would love to make the site a little more sophisticated,
if I only knew how!

Enough of all that for now.  Bear Decadence is coming
up fast!  I hope you have had the chance to view the
information on the site -- and thanks to the folks who let
me know SEPT was spelled wrong!  I do appreciate that!
At least a couple of you are paying attention! hehehe!

Anyone interested in working at one of the events during
Decadence - please let me know.  I look forward to
seeing you all soon.

Be well - Stay safe

Sincerely

Ed Pujol
